NWI Volunteer Lawyers, Inc.

The "Access to Justice" Project for Lake, Porter, Jasper, & Newton Counties

About Us

If you are low income, have a civil (NOT criminal) legal problem, and can't afford a lawyer, we may be able to help you find a volunteer lawyer willing to assist you

Our Mission:

To support Access to Justice for All by recruiting volunteer lawyers to provide legal information, advice, and representation in civil legal matters to low-income persons who are residents of Lake, Porter, Jasper, & Newton Counties. ( For information for other counties: Indiana Pro Bono Commission )

Our Services:

For Applicants: We screen for eligibility, provide immediate legal advice, information or referrals to other agencies, and, where appropriate, refer applicants to a volunteer attorney for further legal services - civil cases only.
